Documentaries

Thanks to a tip from a friend I just watched the documentary "We Live in Public." What a great and fascinating documentary about Josh Harris, a young Internet entrepreneur who basically invented reality TV before it went mainstream, was an early pioneer in Internet TV and podcasting and for a time shared his entire life on-line well before Justin.TV came into existence. Guy does have some mental issues that become apparent but he was a visionary before his time. He blew through a $80 million fortune and has had difficulties getting back into the tech world.

Another interesting documentary that I recently watched was "Reagan" on HBO. This documentary wasn't that bad. Totally exposes how the myth of Reagan and the falsities of his presidency have been propagated by the extreme right like Grover Norquist and others. Edmund Morris who is one of the greatest living biographers and wrote the Reagan biography "Dutch" gave some great insight into Reagan. I think all members of the republican party should watch this so they can stop invoking his name and stop saying they are trying to align the party back to his values...because frankly those values are not the same. One of the best part is the discussion on Reaganomics and the failure it turned out to be (even though you wouldn't know that listening to the right).
